Getting To Know The CDC Data Management Team

Another successful contract year has come to a close for the CDC Data Management Team in Atlanta, and we begin Option Year 3. Across this team of 21 individuals, there is no better group suited to support the Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) in their data management work. The following summary of the team was not prepared by a data manager or data specialist, thus given to some potential margin of error, additionally, some data was missing! With those caveats, a little bit about the team:

  • Across the team, there are 250+ total years of experience!
  • Of those years, nearly 150 are with CDC
  • This is a highly educated group with:
    • Approximately 20 bachelor’s degrees
    • Approximately 20 master’s degrees, with several people holding more than one
    • Several doctoral-level degrees, with one in progress
    • These degrees cover the spectrum with multiple Master of Public Health degrees in addition to chemistry, art, philosophy, microbiology, health informatics, French, biology, Spanish, epidemiology, psychology, media to name few

The team is also highly prolific with their work:

  • More than 30 publications to date
  • Numerous presentations and abstracts
  • Too many reports to count
